Spoon - Rhythm & Soul

I absolutely love this album. The thing is, whenever I listen to it, I am instantly transported to my narrow, green tiny room with white trim in Spain. It’s a weird feeling. Not necessarily sad emotions, not necessarily happy emotions - it just feels like I should be there and I’m not.

boniverotica:

Bon Iver wanted to show me that it is okay to cry when you are sad. He squeezed his eyes shut and his face was marked by sorrow. Moments later, his eyes were wet. He shuddered. ‘Bon Iver,’ I said, and placed a hand on his bare chest to calm him, ‘what made you so suddenly sad?’He choked and wiped his eyes. ‘Deforestation,’ he whispered.

The National and Sharon Van Etten - Think You Can Wait

Win Win made me laugh out loud. That doesn’t happen too often. Little did I realize this gem was on the soundtrack as well.

Dirty Projectors- “Gun Has No Trigger”

New album coming out! Niiiice!

Strongly influenced by modern R&B … the xx use a drum machine to complement their copiously tidy compositions. Unlike contemporary R&B fetishists Hot Chip or Discovery, who have clearly spent long hours internalizing Timbaland, the Neptunes, and other radio cognoscenti, the xx incorporate more abstract elements of the genre: a liberal use of bass tones and an unwavering focus on sex and interpersonal relationships.
━ Nearly perfect Pitchfork review of The xx that articulates why I couldn’t get enough of that album when it first came out and why I love it so. Read the rest of it here.
